Parts Search Strategy on the Obsolete Automotive Site

Since there is a very large selection of parts available to choose from, we have used a strategy that puts our parts into groups sharing similar characteristics. The search begins when you select a Parts Group from the catalog search link on the top navigation bar.

After you have selected a Parts Group from the drop-down list, and click the Submit button, a query is submitted to our server that will return all matching categories of parts that fall into that Parts Group. Then you will be presented with a series of Major Categories. Select the category that most closely matches the part you are looking for and click Submit. Then you will see a list of parts groups that are in that group. Choose the description that suits the part you are looking for. You may also select your car type here, or choose 'View all Parts in this Category'.

Now you will be presented with a list of Part Numbers, and their descriptions. To view the details for a particular part, click on the Part Number. You will then see full details for that part, including description, quantity on hand in our warehouse, list price, sale price, and a picture of that part (if we have photographed it!!). Note that if the List Price and Sale Price are the same, that part is not on sale.

If you don't find the part you are looking for, click 'back' on your browser, and instead of choosing your Car Type, choose 'View all Parts in this Category'. This will allow you to review a list of parts most closely matching your query. You can also type in a complete or partial part number.

If all else fails, please send us an e-mail. We have listed over 7,000 of our most popular parts on the Web site. We have many other hard-to find items in stock, along with a large selection of high-quality used and rebuilt components. Chances are we can supply!
